Okay. Hey! Woke up late today. Latest I’ve woken up in months. PAST 1:30! Well which is it, In The Past or 1:30. Uhh well both I guess! Started re-watching Freaks & Geeks last night. When I was a kid we didn’t have Freaks OR Geeks. I don’t remember there being Nerds or Jocks either. Maybe it was just me but we boiled down people Into Complete Sentences rather than single words! We probably did single words. Hmm. Weird was one negative word that could be applied to a person. Stupid or something maybe. Anyway. I’m not sure what a positive word for a person would be. IF WE’RE TALKING ABOUT YOU there must be something wrong with you! Anyway I think the universe over-corrected by giving too many projects to Freak & Geekfolk eventually later on after the show was cancelled after only one season. Sure I like SOME projects from all these people but did we need them to become THE Main Stream Culture for a decade or so there? Apparently yes because that’s what happened. What Happens Is What Needs To Happens. WRONG. Well what show would you like all movies to be from. Who says it has to be a show! Maybe an internet blog! HMM. If I was born 25 years earlier I’d have written a fanzine and it’d have been 2000% cooler. OH WELL such is life. I have some experience with copiers and fax machines in my life so I figure that’s halfway there. I could make a fanzine if I wanted. Notafanzine. Tryptofanzine. Datphanzine.
Well anyway. I got my guitar fixed and I got a t-shirt. I was gonna play some guitar today but I woke up too late! I was gonna wear a t-shirt today and even though I woke up late I STILL AM. Nothing can stop me! This shirt sleeves are white but the body is black. Sleeves are halfway long which is my least favorite sleeves. I like short sleeve shirts! I don’t like halfway sleeves or long sleeves. What do I need sleeves for. And what do I REALLY NEED halfway sleeves for. Anyway. One of the t-shirt designs had a Marlon Brando Godfather profile on the back along with what must have had some guitar pun but I opted against that one because I don’t want to promote bad values. I got into music to get away from that life not to advocate for it! Hmm. I don’t know if I have a Godfather or Godmother. I’m gonna have to ask my parents about that! If I do I’d say 50% odds are my Godfather is my uncle. Because my parents have no friends. Seems redundant but what are ya gonna do. Anyway the mafia can’t be so bad based on the first scene of The Godfather. WHY this guy is doing favors FOR EVERYBODY. You gotta check this guy out! Anyway. Godfather puts on a show for some kid with an orange in his mouth. Not sure what character he’s playing. Guy with Orange Rinds in his teeth. Either way what a pleasure to be around.
Okay. Let’s see. Rosh Hashunah gotta be coming up. Let’s see. It’s before sundown on September 11th. What does that mean. You mean like September 11th? In the morning. Stroke Of Midnight? That’s Before Sundown! Or do you mean like as it Just As It STARTS becoming Sundowny on 9/11? It’s confusing phrasing that doesn’t stand up to the Me Comprehending It Test. Anyway. Before 9/11 happened we didn’t get upset so much about individual days. There was no single day of the year where we were like Well THAT DAY Sucks. They picked a pretty successful day aesthetically that we’d remember. Oh No these comments on 9/11 might come back to haunt me later on during my career. I PRAISED 9/11 FOR PICKING A GOOD DAY on the internet. Well I guess. Still AGAINST THEM having done it. By a LONG shot! Not even close! America lost its innocence that day. Also on Day One. And Day Two Through 9/10/01. And the rest of days after. Probably even the days LEADING UP to America! I mean leading up to 1492. I think they may have had plans all along Once We Get There We’re Gonna Fuck Shit Up. I don’t like it. What about all the good things America has done. Like the time Tom Hanks and Robert Loggia played the lifesize piano in Big. I just saw Big: The Movie for the first time. That was a good thing America did!
Whatever. What else is going on. September is when school starts up again. Why did they pick Summer to take school off. Kids need to help parents with the harvest in the summer months. Oh that’s probably it. Modern era though WHY. Kids like to fuck around in the summer. It’s a fun season! It’s too hot for our own good! Let’s take a break about it! Anyway when would my birthday be if we were following The Jewish Calendar. Huh. Probably still would be born During The Same Time And Moment In The Earth’s Revolution. I dunno. Maybe. Does anyone make the habit of playing The Beatles’ Revolution as New Years Eves turns into… New Years… Morn? You know cause a year is a revolution around the sun. That thing. I don’t like that there’s a song by the Beatles about Revolution in general but for the most part the lyrics seem to be ANTI-Revolution. The music is upbeat and rockin’ which makes it seem pro-revolution but if you listen John Lennon keeps going Nah I don’t wanna do that. No I’m not on board with that either. Nope leave me out of that too. Anyway. When I was younger I just thought it was universally agreed that the order of Importance of Beatles was Ringo < Harrison < McCartney < Lennon. Now I see things aren’t so clearcut. It turns out they’re unique individual people and you can’t judge or quantify humans like they’re commodities! Still seems pretty accurate though.
Anyway. Did they ever make an attempt to convince the audience that they were all brothers whose last name was Beatle. My guess is if they did they didn’t try very hard and mostly left it up to people’s imagination! Anyway. My Dad wrote a sci-fi story when he was 10-14 or so which was called Rick Starr and The Plutonians. About aliens from other planets and a guy named Rick Starr and whatknot. And I DOUBT The Beatles and Ringo Starr (A.K.A. RICK Starkey) were known yet at the time. So basically my Dad is a genius clairvoyant of sorts and his Hero In Time is Ringo Starr? My Dad’s not a huge fan of music in general but He Likes The Name across astral planes! Makes sense. Great. Then again Johnny Depp played a lizard named Ringo in a movie and I’m not sure why that happened. Presumably Ringo was a character of sorts and the movie had some plot that was interesting to some degree. What the Hell. Ringo (2011) got GREAT reviews. It looked like some dumb throwaway movie to me! Guess I’ll have to check this one out from the library when I get a chance! Then there’s also the original Japanese movie Ringu that inspired The Ring. I’ve seen that, too. I don’t understand their language and was forced to read subtitles! Anyway That’s It! See ya later!
